Help from My Dearest Friend

There’s something I’ve come to deeply trust in my life — that signs and synchronicities are always present, quietly guiding me in even the smallest of moments.

The more I’ve opened myself to noticing them, the more they seem to show up. It feels almost like having a personal assistant woven into the fabric of life itself — something intuitive, responsive, and always looking out for me.

Recently, I experienced this in a way that made me smile from the inside out.

Earlier this month, I was searching online for poop pickup bags for my dog. It sounds simple enough, but the options were overwhelming. I knew exactly what I wanted — something strong that wouldn’t break, and easy to open quickly. This mattered more than usual because I’d recently had a frustrating experience trying to open a bag in the middle of the night while caring for my unwell dog. In that moment, struggling with something so small felt exhausting.

As I scrolled through endless listings, I started to feel a bit defeated. Nothing was standing out, and I just wanted to make a reliable choice and be done with it.

Then something gently caught my attention.

My eyes were drawn back to the very first item on the list — one I had already glanced over. This time, I noticed something different. The box contained 1,080 bags.

10/8.

That’s my dearest friend’s birthday — someone I lost in 2022.

In that instant, everything softened. I felt her presence so clearly, as if she were right there beside me, nudging me gently and saying, “This one.”

I read the description again. It mentioned exactly what I needed — easy to open, sturdy, made from plant-based materials. It was perfect.

I smiled, felt a wave of relief, and quietly said thank you.

Then I placed the order.

Since then, I’ve been so happy with the bags — they’ve worked beautifully, just as I’d hoped. But more than that, the experience left me with something much deeper.

I felt supported.

I felt guided.

And most of all, I felt connected — as though my friend was still with me, still caring, still helping in the most unexpected and loving ways.

It reminded me that these signs don’t have to be grand or dramatic to be meaningful. Sometimes, they show up in the most ordinary moments — like choosing something online — and gently remind us that we’re never truly alone.

And if we’re open to it… love continues to find us, even in the smallest details.
